 The white or yellow glue that carpenters use for gluing joints and laminating is also suitable for attaching edge beading, but it is slightly more troublesome to use than contact cement. It has a tendency to run when it is wet, so the beading should be applied immediately after application of the glue. Moreover, it takes about an hour to dry, so you need to hold the beading in place with tape. There is one advantage to using carpenter's glue. Until it sets, the beading is moveable, so you can make small adjustments if needed.
